Following on from our successes in a local market, AM author
Carley-Anne Osborn and I organised an author day in Braintree, Essex, today, 9th November.
Among the other authors present was Austin Macauley author Aki Mckenzi. Carley
presented her two releases, ‘What We can Be’ and ‘Pretend with Me’. Aki
showcased their debut novel ‘Edge of Empire: World's End: The Legacy of the Neo
Warriors’ while I had all five of my AM releases, ‘Astrid books 1, 2 & 3’,
‘Perfect Strangers’ and ‘The Story – Be careful what you read’. Interest was
shown in my forthcoming horror novel ‘The Twinmere Beast’, with people eager to
get a copy.
The author day was an inaugural event intended to showcase
the work of Essex authors, regardless of who they are published by. We are
hoping to make this a bi-annual event, maybe even more frequent if the demand
is there. Other Austin Macauley authors based in Essex will be more than
welcome at these events.
The local market is an artisan outlet and a couple of months back Carley and I realised that the venue would be perfect for an author event. It took a fair bit of organisation, but the results were good, books were sold and lessons were learned.
