Festival appearance and collaboration

I’ve been invited to take part in the Brightlingsea Literary Festival which is scheduled to take place in spring 2024. It will be a ‘Meet the Author’ event and I will post more details as soon as I have them. I am hoping to have my fourth novel out by then. ‘Perfect Strangers’ is a change of direction for me as it is a horror novel inspired by my love of the old Hammer Horror films, and it has a touch of ‘Tales Of The Unexpected’ about it as well. This is the first in a series of short-ish unrelated horror novels, each of which is a one-day read.

Speaking of short stories, my latest blog is a 6,000-word time-travel sci-fi story. Again, a huge departure for me as it is written in the first person.

In other news, I did a reading at a writers circle in Brentwood with a short Q&A session afterwards that went well. I’ve also had a great write-up in the Chelmsford City News, courtesy of Sylvia Kent.

I have teamed up with fellow Austin Macauley author Carley-Ann Osborn, writer of ‘What we can be’, to arrange collaborative events. We both write stories that feature strong women but come at it from very different angles. We hope to hold at least some of the events in Essex libraries during the course of 2024. Again, more details will follow just as soon as we have them.
