In the first half of the book, the main characters, Paul and Sophie, are well developed and their daily routine easy to understand. This gave me a good insight into each of them giving me a clue as to how they might behave in given situations. Sophie would be logical, practical, with a spreadsheet not far away while Paul would be easier going and friendly. However, upon each of them meeting a mysterious character, they behave completely out of character showing what a strong influence the new person is to them both. TG Trouper has written this character U-turn convincingly which compelled me to read on, discovering how the two are drawn into a completely different mindset and, ultimately, lifestyle. Dialogue is good too; easy to follow and understand. What began as a curious read learning about the routine of a young couple resulted in a dark story with a thrilling ending.
